Try this:

Download the extension manager installer from Adobe - http://download.macromedia.com/pub/dw_exchange/extension_manager/wi...

Download the 1.70 Windows plugin installer from Roland - https://rnet.rolanddga.com/Docs/Documents/departments/Technical%20S...

ISSUES with Roland CutStudio Plug-in in Adobe Illustrator - Send help!!! SOOOOOOO I just reconected my desktop to my Roland Camm-1 GR-420 vinyl cutter via USB (its only ever been connected to my computer that way) and it isn't registering at all. Convert Adobe Illustrator into a fully featured, pre-press packaging workstation with RealPro Toolkit - a suite of Adobe Illustrator plug-ins. RealPro Toolkit is compatible with any existing workflows, bringing all the functionality of high end workstations within Adobe® Illustrator®.

Extract both folders.

Run the Adobe extension manager program

Run the .zxp file (cutstudio plugin) with the Adobe extension manager program.

Run Illustrator - plugin should work now. It can be found under Window - Extensions - CutStudio Plugin

These programs are only compatible to Illustrator vs 17.9. The new version is 18.0 and it will not install. I asked Roland when they will have the new plugin.

Cutstudio Plug In

correction - I had to exit out of everything and then force an update. It is running the updater now and I will see if I can get things to work afterwards

Roland Cutstudio Setup

just updated everything - this sucks!

I still have the older version on my system and can use it. I will work with my contacts at Roland to see when they anticipate an update.

Roland Cutstudio Plugin

I keep a copy of AI version 4 on the MAC for that same reason.

It's the same for Corel X7 too, with the newest version of the CutStudio button it does nothing when you click it. I think it just takes them a while to update the plugin when the new software versions come out. I have just been cutting through the print options.

Adobe is archiving their old versions for you to reinstall online just incase you need them is my understanding. When you upgrade the old versions stay on your system by default. It has not hurt my workflow, but I figured we should all know before it did.

I have received no update from Roland as of this moment.
